One-Line Bio

Business consultant, strategy facilitator, business coach and writer of fiction and non-fiction

Biography

My experience:

Thirty years of working across organisations and industries, provides insights into what really works. My background combines experiences gained as a business leader and business consultant with global multinationals, SMEs, charities, business start ups, the UK Government and the Armed Services. The range of sectors includes Professional Services, Financial Services, Media, Travel, Pharma, Construction and Engineeering and Hospitality.

How I work:

Working as an independent business consultant since the late 1990s, my focus is on supporting Boards and individual Directors as they develop change strategies and lead their implementation. As well as working directly with businesses, I collaborate with a number of individuals and specialist consultancies in providing value to my clients. The journey continues to be exciting and challenging and it is a pleasure to learn with and from my fellow travellers.

3 principles guide the way I work:

1. Most of us prefer to work with people we like, in relationships based on mutual respect and trust, where collaboration increases dialogue and produces exciting ideas and access to a range of different perspectives.

2. Leadership is a way of thinking, not just a way of acting. Business coaching enables leaders to reflect and develop understanding of their organisational context.

3. Boards are balancing business performance and ethics/principles. Authenticity matters for the individuals juggling these tensions
